The HP LaserJet 1022 Printer Is Totally Functional

The HP LaserJet 1022 printer using the HP LaserJet 1022 replacement toner, is fully functional, relatively quick when it comes to print speed, and delivers printouts that are high in quality. It is also easy to pick up and move around and actually looks attractive sitting next to a computer. This monochrome laser unit from Hewlett-Packard also comes in models that are ready to be hooked up to a networked workgroup.

When it comes to size, the 1022 generally surprise most people with how compact and light in weight it really is. At only 12 pounds, it’s small size might be deceptive and fool people into thinking that it is not a real performer. They’d be mistaken, though, because it can put out 19 pages of good quality print every minute. Many printers double the cost can’t pull this trick off, by the way.Make sure to have plentu of HP printer toner cartridges on hand.

There’s only one way that the printer can be hooked up to a computer when it’s in standard configuration, and that’s why it comes with only a high-speed USB port. This isn’t a big deal, because most networks and computers operate off USB when dealing with these kinds of printers. Just install everything via the included CD-ROM and get ready to roll. Keep in mind that a separate USB cable will need to be purchased, though.

In terms of how versatile the 1022 is, most experts rated it fairly highly. It can run off of a variety of Windows operating systems as well as being able to use Mac OS 10.2 and higher operating systems. It’s the case that many Hewlett-Packard printers at this price range don’t feature that kind of versatility, but Mac users will be pleased to know that this isn’t the case with this printer.

The printer comes with a standard 8 MB of memory, but that’s no big deal because the printer is made to be what’s known as “host-based, ” meaning that it will make use of the computer’s processing power to perform all print jobs. If it’s needed for more than text jobs (that is to say, if it’s meant to print out graphics-rich jobs), a handy driver can be downloaded from Hewlett-Packard’s website to do so.

A 266 MHz onboard processor will handle everything. This should be more than enough to ensure that the 1022 will be able take all of its tasks, put them in order and then deliver printed product with little or no trouble at all. It can handle up to 260 sheets, including 250 sheets in a single auto-load input tray. This is a lot of paper for such a small printer, by the way.

Duty cycle per month with the 1022 comes in at a nice 8000 pages, which is generally more than enough for a printer that actually is intended by Hewlett-Packard to be more of a personal-type laser printer. What monthly duty cycle means is that the printer will be able to handle and print out about 1000 pages of product in a month before it would need minor maintenance or exchange of cartridges.

At present, prices for the HP LaserJet 1022 printer are coming in at about $190 for a refurbished model and up to $600 for a brand-new model. Keep in mind that it doesn’t come with its own USB cable, so be prepared to shell out additional money for one. Still, it’s a very lightweight and compact machine that prints out quite quickly, making it well worth the price. If you are printing lots of graphics make sure to have plenty of 1022 ink and toner on hand. The ink and toner cartridges is the ink that the printer uses to print. HP LaserJet toners can be found online or in stores.
