Simple guide on how to get the most out of the photographer you hire
Posted by Goldy in Uncategorized on December 3rd, 2009
Basically there are many great events in our lives. Some could be personal and family type of events. While others are actually more business and could be related to our company and the kind of work that we do.One thing for sure is that many of these great events require a photographer. So in this article we are going to look at a couple of things to make sure you get the most out of the photographer.
First of all if it is a huge event like a wedding you definitely need to get the most out of your professional photographer. After all you have given them the job of capturing one of your most important moments in life. As a San Diego wedding photographer I am not against getting suggestions from my clients. Things like the type of photos you want taken. These are things that will help the photographer know how to do a better job.
Well there are other events such as graduations or other events in your children’s life. Now all of them actually do not need a professional photographer but some can surely use them. As a San Diego photographer I have done all kinds of events for parents. When you do hire a professional photographer for something like a graduation then let them know how you want the photos done.In other words if you need to perfectly capture all the moments like a photo story you just let them know. This helps them focus on the important shots for you.
Then of course there are your standard portrait type of photos. Things like family pictures fall into this category. Here is where you definitely have to let them know how you want the photos captured.Since if you don’t they will absolutely take the shots which they think works rather than what you definitely want. So I make it a point in my San Diego event photography service to get their opinion.
When hiring a professional photographer if you do these things you will definitely get the most out of your photographer.
Digital photo-taking tips

A popular hobby with a lot of people is photography.People have this love of taking pictures.Be it may their families or events. Or they love to take phots of places they go to.Taking better shots is one thing that people would love to learn. And with the advent of digital cameras it is easier to do.But there are still lot to learn when it comes to photography skills. So, here are some tips to help you improve your skills in digital photography.
Now these tips are from the experience I have gained as a San Diego wedding photographer. So these tips were learned through trial by fire.Because when you are taking shots of a big or special event you better get it right.
So first thing you want to to is learn how to see the light. You, as a photographer, should know the effects of light on your shots. This is something I learned as a San Diego photographer. Things like sunlight during daylight.Or the light in a room can affect your shots. Thankfully with digital cameras you can test out the lighting with actual shots. So the first tip is to test the effect of the light on your shots.
Learning how to create depth and dimension should be the next tip.We look at 3-dimensions in our world. But in cameras it is only 2-dimensional.But if you learn how to create depth and dimension then you can make it look like 3-D. It is a trick I had to learn doing San Diego event photography. No one likes to just look at photos blankly. They want to feel like they are there.By creating depth in your photos then that could be doable.
Those are just a few of the many lessons you can learn on photography but learning those two tips is valuable.Your photos will be more beautiful and you will be more appreciative of your accomplishment. So you must realize that taking photos is not just a point and click thing.Taking photos also takes time to perfect and learn.
Tips on how to take night photographs
Posted by Goldy in Uncategorized on November 14th, 2009
One of the hardest shots to take is night shots. That would be the case when you do not have any ideas on what to do with your cameras. But if you have some idea then you can take great photos. On the other hand if you don’t know what you are doing it will look ugly. So here are some tips for you so you can be a better photographer at night. If you follow them you will happy at the kind of photos you take.
First of all, I hate to say it but equipment matters. In other words, you can’t expect a mere point-and-click camera to take great night shots. It does not have the capability to do that. As a San Diego wedding photographer I have had to learn that only cameras made to take photos at night will work.It doesn’t mean that you shoud have a camera that is specifically made for night shots but you should look for a camera that can shoot in the dark. This one tip is not free and could be very expensive. But as soon as you can buy a well-equipped camera then that would be the start of your taking great night photos.
Second tip I would give is to not over-rely on the flash of your camera. If you have taken any night shots you will know what I am talking about. It is something I had to learn as a San Diego photographer not to rely on the flash.Instead, use your camera’s features and use it well.Learn the capabilities and limitations of your camera. This will be of big help to beginners since they can pre-program their cameras to take good shots at certain circumstances.
Last tip is to use a lens that reduces camera shake.Having the experience of taking photos in a lot of events made me realize this problem. So doing San Diego event photography has helped me gain experience. I have found that using a special lens reduces this shake. This will allow you to take crisper night time photos.
So, that is it. If you follow these tips you are sure to take better night shots.
Making the subject of your photos look nice
Posted by Goldy in Uncategorized on November 4th, 2009
People always classify themselves either as photogenic or not.So they may look good at photos. While others think they do not look good in photos. Well in this article I will point out some tips to make everyone look great. Because how people come out isn’t dependent upon them.It depends on the photographer’s ability to bring out their photogenic side.So if you follow the steps that we will be talking about in this article everyone would love the outcome of their looks in photos.
First of all in my service as a San Diego wedding photographer everyone needs to look good. You won’t have satisified clients if they won’t like what they will see in the photos. So if you want satisfied clients learn these tips. The first one is use soft lighting. Soft lighting is using cloudy days or indirect window light. Soft lighting will help to reveal your subject’s features in a flattering way.
Employing simple backgrounds for your subjects is the next tip. Especially if you are doing wedding photos that is something that is hard to do. But in my San Diego event photography service it is something that must be done. If you are able to keep distractions out of the shot you can have the shot focus more on the subject.
Paying more attention to the position of the heads and the hands of the subjects would be the next tip.Not being able to do so would make the look of your subject very awkward. This is especially important for my San Diego commercial photographer service. The last thing you want is to be taking photos for a corporate shoot and have the subject look uncomfortable.
So follow these few tips and you will truly appreciate how your pictures come out.But on top of that your clients would love you and your shots because they look great in them.

Advice on how to find a very good wedding photgrapher
Posted by Goldy in Uncategorized on October 23rd, 2009
The wedding day is one of the most special days for anybody. Most women have been dreaming of this day since they were still children. For the men it is the day when they can finally say that they got the women of their dreams. With it being so special there are so many important jobs to make that day special. One of those heavy tasks is given to the wedding photographer. You should hire a good and talented one since it is one, if not, the most important job during a wedding. So how can you do that?
Well as a San Diego wedding photographer I have seen the ways couples have gone about trying to choose ones. Here are key points to look at when deciding and this is from my experience as a wedding photographer.
First of all you have to anticipate your budget. It doesn’t do you any good to find someone you like but can’t afford them. So first decide your budget and once you know that you can narrow your choices. Of course since it is such a special day my opinion as a San Diego photographer is to now worry about price.Price should not be an object since we are talking about a photgrapher here that would capture the most magical day of a couples life. But if price is a deciding factor then you should be able to determine your budget for hiring one.Once you determine your budget then it would be easier to look for a photographer.
After you have already determined the amount of money that you will spend on a photographer then it is time to look for one meticulously. It is just like in any kind of jobs.If you have a business and you are looking for someone to work with you would you just immediately hire someone that you encounter? Of course you wouldn’t and neither should you with hiring a photographer for the job.You would want to know if you are compatible personality wise. You would want to look at his/her work. And from my experience as an event photographer San Diego, you want to see how much experience they have dealing with weddings. If you do a round of interviews you will definitely find the photographer you are looking for.
Wedding photographers part on that special day
Posted by Goldy in Uncategorized on October 10th, 2009
One of the most special events for a person would be his or her wedding day. Usually it is made out to be the bride’s special day.But this day is also important for the groom as well. That day is special due to a lot of things. One part of a wedding that is not always given attention to is the photographer.
Their part in making that day memorable is a huge one. I know for a fact from my first hand experience as a San Diego wedding photographer.Because the main job of a photographer is to capture that event. Those moments should be forever captured on a film. The photos would be the way to remember the events that happened on that fateful day. And only a photograph can capture those moments in time.
What else does a photographer contribute? They contribute to turning that wedding day into a story.A photo shoot that is planned and conceptualized early would result to a very good wedding album. Perfectly captured photos turns that photo album into a beautiful story.Good shots will be able relive the events to a person who wasn’t at that special day. So with that in mind you need a San Diego photographer who can really accomplish that type of job.But you must also decide if that is what you really want. All of us can just use our cameras then point and click. But you want a photographer with an artistic flair as well.
A final thing a photographer can do is make it an event. In my photography practice my work is called event photography, because all occassions should be captured as an event, and a good event photography San Diego service should be able to do that. Not just simple shots. But shots that seems to be bigger than life.
I hope that by now you would see the importance of a photographer during a wedding. Pick a good one who can contribute to that special day.Someone who can make it seem like the events that happened are those events that only happen in a happy ending story. Because when you look back at it, that day should be.
How to Take better Candid Photos
Posted by Goldy in Uncategorized on August 1st, 2009
Taking pictures of people go into two categories. They are either portraits or candids.
Portraits are the shots when your subjects are in poses. While the candids are usually when your subject is doing something natural.
I would like to focus on taking shots that are candid. There is an art to this form of photography and if you follow these few steps, you will be pleased with your work. This is from my experience as a San Diego Photographer.
First off you don’t want to get in the way. Most candid shots you take of course are going to be people going about their business, but the secret to taking a great shot like that is to make sure they are unaware of the shot.
Because often, if you let them notice you, you will miss the essence of that unguarded shot.So be diligent in making sure they don’t know about the camera.
Another thing to consider is the setting or the environment. When you are taking a candid shot, the setting plays a vital role. You want the candid shot to capture the subject and their setting as naturally as possible. It’s that setting
whether is is their house, their work, or the street they are on, will tell a story about your subject’s life. This is especially important if you are going to be taking shots as a Wedding Photographer San Diego.
A third thing to consider or do is anticipating behavior. An important part to being able to take candid photos of people who are acting naturally is to know what your subject will do next in a situation.
This will help you if you are trying to catch something in particular because it will allow you to be prepared rather than miss the shot. Knowing how they will react and being able to capture that is all about anticipation.
Finally, always be on the lookout for those moments when a person’s emotion will be expressed.Because if you think about it, when you take these photos, the main thing is trying to capture their emotions in these shots.
Look at what your subject is doing and see if it will be a moment that will express emotion. Such as an impatient expression at a stoplight.Or a happy expression at an event.Every second in time is an opportunity to capture a moment of beautiful emotion.Being alert of those moments will enable you to capture that moment in time that tells a story.
Taking shots that are candid is an art form in and of itself.Especially if you really want your candid photos to tell a story. Following these few simple steps will help you be on the road of capturing as many storytelling moments as possible as a photographer.
Stabilizing digital video
Posted by Goldy in Uncategorized on July 5th, 2009
Co-submitted by: Outdoor Intercom Units. Digital videos are the latest thing in videos now. Gone are the days when everything was recorded onto tape, and we need to make sure nothing happened to those tapes or all the footage would be lost. Now it is the time for DVDs and everything has gone digital. Even today, we may have some of the video tapes carrying valuable memories. The risk of having your memories on a tape is that you will losoe them soon or later and day by day, as the picture quality reduces with the decay of the tapes . What can be done to preserve the memories for more decades to come? This is where digital video stabilizer can help you.
A digital video stabilizer is one that can convert all the data on a videotape onto a DVD. The digital video stabilizer works such that it removes the copy-protection on the videotape, and makes it possible for the data on the videotape to be copied onto a DVD. The digital video stabilizer also can copy video data from one videotape to another.
It is important to note here that it is legal for the owner of the tape to make copies from the videotape onto the DVD for his own use, using the digital video stabilizer. If you are interested in buying a digital video stabilizer, how do you find one? A simple search online will give you many places where you can buy a digital video stabilizer, and many have the option of shipping it directly to your doorstep.
The price of a digital video stabilizer may change from $20 ro $40 depending on the brand and the quality of the device output. Although the digital video stabilizers work with any type of VCR, they are compatible with certain types of DVD recorders. It is important to do some research on the model of the digital video recorder you are interested in purchasing before you actually do so, to see if it is compatible with the VCR and DVD recorder you already own.
The digital video stabilizer totally keeps you worry-free as now you do not have to worry about the decay of the video tapes you have. It is much easier to maintain the integrity of video footage when saved on a DVD, and a digital video stabilizer will make it easier for you to transfer that footage from tape to DVD with no loss of quality.
