Broadband - Speeding Up Your Connection
Posted by Goldy in Uncategorized on February 27th, 2011
Since we all first began enjoying the World Wide Web through the use of a measly 56k modem connection, things have progressed quite drastically; not just in terms of what we view, but also how we view it. With the introduction of broadband internet access, the way we view the internet has changed forever with many more sites utilizing flash animations, embedded music and video media.
The problem with surfing the internet or using an internet connection for other uses such as gaming or streaming media, is that you always want to improve your connection to its utmost potential. Below is a list of tips that will help you achieve this. Sometimes the easiest and quickest option is the most effective. If you have recently experienced a decrease in your internet access speeds and you are unsure as to why or how it happened, the first thing you should try is to turn off both your pc and router and turn them on again, first the router, then the pc. Sometimes conflicting or incorrect data is loaded by the pc and it could just take a reboot to get things back to normal.
If you are using a wireless connection, it helps to be as close to the wireless router as possible. If it is possible then try to position your wireless router in the same room as your computer, and aim the aerial vertically to ensure the best possible broadcast area. If this is not possible then try to make sure that there is as little as possible, in terms of walls and electrical appliances, in between your pc and the router. Wireless connections are not only useful, but they reduce all the clutter that can take over your house by using ethernet cables linking the computers in your home. The only downside is that they are not as stable and consistent as wired connections so if you really want to make the most from your broadband, look into getting some wired connections installed.
It is possible to speed up your connection just by monitoring exactly what your computer is doing with your internet connection. There are some programs that like to be in constant communication with the internet and therefore sap away valuable bandwidth from what you are doing and also, even having an excessive number of programs running in the background can slow down your internet connection indirectly. More running programs means less random access memory for your computer to think with. Make sure that you are only using what programs you actually need by looking at the open programs in your taskbar and closing any unnecessary ones.
HTC Mozart 7 : Is It Worth The Money?
Posted by Goldy in Uncategorized on December 22nd, 2010
HTC has launched 5 smartphones into the Windows Phone 7 realm. This one is one of the more stylish. This unit boasts an 8 mega-pixel camera with a Xenon flash. Others in its class only have a 5 mega-pixel camera and a less powerful LED flash. Music aficionados will love the Mozart and its Zune software.
This brushed aluminum bodied phone utilizes a 1GHz Snapdragon chipset and a 3.7 inch SLCD display and 8GB of memory. The face of the unit contains three backlit buttons at the bottom of the screen. Above the screen is the grill for the ear speaker. There are matte silver buttons on the sides of the unit to control volume, power and camera. There is a 3.5mm headphone jack located on the top near the power button.
The HTC Mozart is equipped with a powerful 8 mega-pixel auto-focus camera that tops many other smartphone cameras in its class. Most of the competitors equip theirs with a 5 mega-pixel camera. The stronger camera does fall short in one area however; there are few options to adjust the camera settings. In addition to still photos, the camera can serve as an HD camcorder, but there are reports that this mode is prone to frame rate reduction issues that affect the video quality, particularly in low light conditions.
If you are a music fan the HTC Mozart is the smartphone for you. It has excellent quality speakers with high-end technology known as SRS WOW HD, which enhances the sound quality in the form of virtual surround sound. The music + videos hub is powered by Zune, which can be used to get all the music and videos you need. If you already have favorites stored on another machine, simply sync the phone via wireless connection and you are ready to take your entertainment on the go.
The Mozart scores big points for looks and style. For those into music, the Mozart wins hands down with a great speaker system and Zune software. Although photography aficionados may find the camera sub par, there is no denying that an 8 GB camera is a great feature for a smartphone. The 3.7-inch display gives a great view of the system and Zune will enable you to download and organize your favorite music.

A Little Bit About The Origin Of Batteries.
Posted by Goldy in Uncategorized on July 6th, 2010
If you think batteries are old then reconsider, because the exact opposite is in fact true. Batteries have now been around for about 200 years. They were actually invented around the year 1800 by a man called Alessandro Volta.
The industry is developing continuously each year and has been thought to be worth a whopping $50 billion in 2009, and they are used in products are far ranging as nuclear power stations and space stations.
Although they are growing in complexity constantly, the essential philosophy continues to be precisely the same, they convert stored chemical energy in electrical power. From a technical perspective a battery consists of 2 or more cells connected in sequence or parallel, although it’s generally employed for just one cell.
The term is thought to be as a result of Benjamin Franklin, who is assumed to have said that charged glass plates together reminded him of a battery of guns.
In 1836 John F. Daniel invented what was known as the Daniel Cell. This took it’s origin from 2 electrolytes - these were copper sulfate and zinc sulfate. These batteries then supplanted the Volta batteries since they were a lot more safe and much less corrosive.
3 years later on Robert Grove created the first ever fuel cell. The fuel cell made electricity from the combination of oxygen and hydrogen.
From 1839 to 1842 a number of different inventors produced batteries that used electrical electrodes to make electricity.
With the present day problems of global temperature change just about the most crucial advancements started in 1954 when Gerald Pearson, Daryl Chapin and Calvin Fuller created the very first solar power electric battery.
Although present day solar power remains to be not effective enough to make more than a small quantity of the worlds electrical power, the technological know-how is accelerating rapidly constantly and provides genuine options for future years, as probably the most advanced of all of the renewable power mediums.
