HTC Mozart 7 : Is It Worth The Money?
Posted by Goldy in Uncategorized on December 22nd, 2010
HTC has launched 5 smartphones into the Windows Phone 7 realm. This one is one of the more stylish. This unit boasts an 8 mega-pixel camera with a Xenon flash. Others in its class only have a 5 mega-pixel camera and a less powerful LED flash. Music aficionados will love the Mozart and its Zune software.
This brushed aluminum bodied phone utilizes a 1GHz Snapdragon chipset and a 3.7 inch SLCD display and 8GB of memory. The face of the unit contains three backlit buttons at the bottom of the screen. Above the screen is the grill for the ear speaker. There are matte silver buttons on the sides of the unit to control volume, power and camera. There is a 3.5mm headphone jack located on the top near the power button.
The HTC Mozart is equipped with a powerful 8 mega-pixel auto-focus camera that tops many other smartphone cameras in its class. Most of the competitors equip theirs with a 5 mega-pixel camera. The stronger camera does fall short in one area however; there are few options to adjust the camera settings. In addition to still photos, the camera can serve as an HD camcorder, but there are reports that this mode is prone to frame rate reduction issues that affect the video quality, particularly in low light conditions.
If you are a music fan the HTC Mozart is the smartphone for you. It has excellent quality speakers with high-end technology known as SRS WOW HD, which enhances the sound quality in the form of virtual surround sound. The music + videos hub is powered by Zune, which can be used to get all the music and videos you need. If you already have favorites stored on another machine, simply sync the phone via wireless connection and you are ready to take your entertainment on the go.
The Mozart scores big points for looks and style. For those into music, the Mozart wins hands down with a great speaker system and Zune software. Although photography aficionados may find the camera sub par, there is no denying that an 8 GB camera is a great feature for a smartphone. The 3.7-inch display gives a great view of the system and Zune will enable you to download and organize your favorite music.

Learn About The Samsung Wave 2
Posted by Goldy in Uncategorized on July 25th, 2010
Even though the name of the Samsung Wave 2 sounds as if it is an upgrade to the original Wave, it is actually more modest than the original smartphone. Samsung is capitalizing on a huge portion of the market - young adults and students that comprise a huge portion of the social media networkers but cannot afford the bells and whistles of the HTC Desire or iPhone. To achieve this, Samsung has delivered an impressive, yet humbled version of the original Wave.
Although many high end smartphones focus on touch screen technology, they do have their drawbacks. While touch screen phones deliver a larger display on an overall smaller phone, typing can be difficult - especially for longer messages. The QWERTY keypad is one of the many impressive features of the Samsung Wave 2. The keypad slides out to accommodate keys large enough to comfortably type with speed, yet adds little bulk to the overall size of the phone.
With this phone, Samsung offers a Bada operating system that provides full access to many new applications for the phone. Although Samsung does not off a range of apps as far reaching as the iPhone, there are many apps available to enhance the user experience. Available apps include GPS related applications as well as a number of different apps designed to meet every user need in the Samsung App Store. In addition, the Samsung Wave 2 offers a host of other features. The internal memory can be expanded to 16 GB, and it comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack as well as an mp3 playback feature. You will be able to use the Samsung Wave 2 as an mp3 player wherever you go.
If the primary reason you are considering purchasing smartphone technology is for the ease of staying connected, the Samsung Wave 2 could be just the phone for you. When coupled with the on-board QWERTY keypad, Bada’s ’social hub’ makes networking a breeze. It allows the user to sync all of their communication venues and social networking sites into one succinct interface, including email accounts, Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, and many more. Because typing on the Wave 2 is so effortless, the user can keep up to speed on updates, emails, and more.
With its host of features and capabilities, the Samsung Wave 2 offers an affordable option in the world of smartphones. With the digital camera, the Samsung App Store, social networking tools and access to a complete QWERTY keyboard, the Samsung Wave 2 provides everything you could ever need in a smartphone device to keep up with every aspect of your busy life. In addition, it is all provided at an affordable price well below the price point of more high-end smartphone models.

What do Oprah, the US Secretary of Transportation, the Triple A, insurance companies and, state governors have in common?
Posted by Goldy in Uncategorized on April 21st, 2010
The United States Department of Transportation recently presented a proposal to forbid text messaging while driving by interstate truck and bus drivers. This regulatory action follows up on Department of Transportation public service program to mitigate distracted drivers that lead to crashes.
The proposal would make permanent an interim ban announced earlier in the year by Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood. The planned ban applies to bus drivers and truck drivers operating vehicles with a gross vehicle weight over five tons. To give an idea of the serious nature of the problem, violators could face civil penalities and/or even criminal charges.
The US Transportation Department reported that 5,870 people were killed and over a half million were injured in 2008 in crashes connected to driver distraction. They has not determined how many of those accidents involved mobile device. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reflects the Transportation Department estimates with projection that around eighty percent of crashes are caused by distracted drivers. The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety is sponsoring research to find out the extent of the distraction problem. The Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) reports that driver inattention is a determining factor in many accidents, and cell phone calls and texting are some of the most common driver distractions.
State legislatures have reacted to the growing outrage over mobile phone use and sending text messages while driving by enacting a range of new laws, inclucing banning handheld mobile phone use or texting by all drivers or restricting mobile phone use or texting for a specific demographic, such as teens or school bus drivers. The Governors Highway Safety Association reports that currently 20 states plus the District of Columbia outlaw drivers of all types of vehicles from sending text messages while behind the wheel. An additional nine states against texting by new drivers. The remaining states are expected to implement the ban before too long. However it is also believed that the laws are not enough to stop the problem and technology is neede. The Governors Highway Safety Association says it supports texting bans for all drivers, but has doubts about enforcement.
A leading source of a potential solution is Phone Beagle. Their software is installed on Android and BlackBerry cell phones and monitors GPS location, and text messages along with other call log activity.
The trucking and passenger bus trade associations support the text message prohibition, and many corporations have firm policies prohibiting sending text messages while driving. The government, industry and safety organizations have found common ground that driver distraction caused bytexting is a menace to society, and deserves action. Advocates for dealing with the problem also include media powerhouse Oprah.
The issue is emerging as a new phenomenon. As navigation systems, mobile phones and other mobile electronics have become ubiquitous in vehicles, safety advocates and the government have pushed for restrictions.
As regulations and technology develop to address the issues a software package from Phone Beagle is available to help deal with monitoring phone use. PhoneBeagle installs on Android and BlackBerry smartphones and monitors GPS location, and text messages along with other phone log events.
How Would You Like To Have A Free Air Time On Your Cell Phone?
Posted by Goldy in Uncategorized on March 21st, 2009
People are always in constant communication today unlike in the past decades, communication is only for a few people. But now everyone has his own cell phone, his own laptop, his own computer and in his computer or laptop, there is sure to be a VOIP (voice over internet protocol) install somewhere on the hard disk. With a Voice Over Internet Protocol, they can get to give anyone a ring they want through the Web without paying much for long distance calls. Do you remember what is like long ago to speak to an operator while you are trying to make some phone calls overseas and do you remember who much it cost just for a 20-second call or a 30-minute call? In the past, air time is not that common and friendly to your finances but today, because of technology, air time is also getting expensive. That’s why, there are VOIPs and one of them is in the form of Magic Jack.
Magic Jack is a type of VOIP or Voice Over Internet Protocol that relies on your computer’s internet connection in order to place calls locally or abroad. What you need is just a USB Cable and that’s basically it and upon receiving the cable or device, you can immediately start making calls. Upon plugging the device, the software is automatically downloaded from the Net while you’re in the process of registering. Right now, a lot of people are using MagicJack rather than other VOIPs and they have good reasons why.
First of all, according to some Magic Jack reviews site, setting up MagicJack is very easy. And the greatest part is, they have a 24/7 tech who is on standby, willing to give you some additional information and help in setting up your Magic Jack. Magic Jack is also very affordable compared to cell phones. Sure, you might have some other network services like Yahoo! Messenger or Skype where you can also communicate with other people but if you want a less expensive way of calling anyone over the phone, then, Magic Jack is your best option.
